  5. Prepare 28 oz. of can crushed tomatoes.
  6. Prepare 1 teaspoon of red pepper, dried (note – if you like it spicier, you may want to taste and adjust).
  7. You need 1 teaspoon of basil, dried.
  8. You need 3/4 teaspoon of salt.
  9. It’s 1/2 teaspoon of oregano, dried.
  10. It’s 1/2 teaspoon of parsley, dried.
  11. Prepare 3 tins of Season Brand Sardines, drained (4.375 oz cans – I used boneless in Extra Virgin Olive Oil – use your favorite).
  12. Prepare to taste of salt & black pepper.
  13. Prepare 1 pound of linguine or spaghetti.

  1. Heat olive oil in a dutch oven or large skillet..
  2. Saute onions until translucent, about 10 minutes..
  3. Add minced garlic, saute for a minute or two..
  4. Add white wine, scrape pan to deglaze..
  5. Add crushed tomatoes, red pepper, basil, salt, oregano & parsley..
  6. Simmer, covered, for 15- 20 minutes, stirring occasionally..
  7. Taste, add additional red pepper if more heat is preferred..
  8. Add sardines. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes..
  9. Salt & pepper to taste if necessary..
  10. Serve over cooked spaghetti or linguine. Enjoy!.
